The wideness of his Finnish homeland best illustrates the dimensions of his artistic horizon. After his studies in Den Haag (dulcian, Baroque bassoon, cembalo, organ) and Paris (classic and romantic bassoon) as well as Helsinki (modern bassoon), not a single aspect of his instrument, from the Middle Ages to the Modern Age, remained hidden to him. His seriousness as an artist and his characteristic cryptic humour made him a remarkeable and cardinal artist not only with Les Musiciens du Louvre, Le Cercle de l'Harmonie, Anima Aeterna, Cappricio Stravagante and the Helsinki Baroque Orchestra. Studying Baroque Dances in Helsinki in addition to his professional tailor work bestowed on him the talent - hardly ever found among musicians -  to elegantly dance a gigue in handcrafted garments
